The last time I really walk and tour around Penang was 7 years ago. Which was during my Primary School Graduation School Trip. That time, I'm just another 12 year old kid. Couldn't walk around the city like what tourist should do.
So, after 7 long years, Ying Phin and Sue-Ann decided to go Penang like those awesome backpackers. I'm so thick face like that, I tagged along too ! :D
That's me on the bus replying his message. <3
The weather is super awesome that day ! Can you see the beautiful clouds? :)
We booked Tune Hotels for our 3 days 2 nights stay in Penang. I recommend that place ! It is really really good ! Why ?
- Is in city center. 10 minutes walk (max) to Komtar, which is the main bus station.
- Most of the popular food stalls are in walking distance !
- Very cheap.
- Budget hotel rate, 3 or 4 stars accommodation.
The 1st thing after we check-in, we took our bath and went out to hunt for nice food ! Penang is popular for their Char Kuey Teow, Cendol, ABC, Asam Laksa, Prawn Mee and many more. Gosh, I'm hungry now. :x
Outfit of the day :
Daisy Duck tee - Uniqlo
Denim shorts - Diesel
Flats - Fipper
Penang Char Kuey Teow !
The 1st reaction after I had my 1st mouthful of Kuey Teow, I go " O.M.G, I can die with no regret now. " We had this in some random coffee shop. Imagine how good is that if we ate this at some popular stall. FYI, I ate Char Kuey Teow everyday in Penang. -_-
ABC ! ( Air Batu Campur, directly translate to English will be Mixed ice :x )
Look at those corns ! Those red beans ! Those grass jellies ! CAN DIE FOR !
Look how happy am I ?! ABC is like my favourite local dessert. Because I love red beans and corns. :) This ABC we got it from a stall near Tune Hotel, and guess what, Puah Chu Kang and Rosie had it before ! Forgot to take photo. :( So, I assume this is a famous ABC stall. :D
: ppppp
After our lunch/teatime/dinner together, we walked to Komtar Bus Station to take a bus ride to Straits Quay which located at Tanjung Tokong, somewhere near Gurney Drive.
Sue- Ann and me
About my shoes, I change it because I feel more comfortable in sneakers since we need to walk around
:)
Straits Quay during the day
Straits Quay during the night
The reason we went to Straits Quay other than to see those beautiful yacht and cute ang mohs and rich people, we wanted to have a drink at CHARLIE BROWN CAFE !
I know recently Charlie Brown cafe is opened in KLCC, but still, the 1st shop is in Penang, and Straits Quay has a nicer night view than KLCC. :p
My Snoopy Hot Chocolate
Ying Phin's Lucy Latte
Sue-Ann's Charlie Brown Cappuccino
Their drinks are not bad, and our drinks each cost RM9.50. For me, the price is okay. But as for their desserts like cakes, we find it not worth it so we didn't get it. Maybe they should decrease their price a wee bit. :x But the surrounding ambiance is really nice. :)
After our so call drinking session, we walked around the mall, and Sue-Ann found Naga Nails offer Air Brush Tattoo, so we did it !
That's me getting my tattoo
My butterfly. :)
The tattoo can last for a week, and cost me RM6 because mine is with glitter. Theirs are just plain tattoo, so cost them RM5. Ying Phin did a scorpion on her left leg while Sue-Ann did a rose on her right leg.
3 of us !
