About Me

Hey Earthlings ! I'm Lily and I just got the Golden Key (in my case, a White Gold Key) last 23rd of January. <3

Currently living with 3 other friends of mine under the same hood in South Australia, together we are pursuing the Bachelor of Science (Food and Nutrition Science) On our way to become an awesome Food Scientist. :D

Casual is my type. Sneakers, jeans, tees are my favourite. As an animal lover, I strongly agree that neuter your pets is a good way to keep both the society as well as the animal world balance. Ecosystem in balance is important ! *thumbs up*

Anatomy of Rat

Last week, during our Biology practical, we did dissection of fish, squid and rat. The day before the lab session, I got so excited and I couldn't sleep well that night. -_- The last time I did dissection was during my high school year, and my group dissected a frog. Is not even I dissect it, all thanks to the guys in my group who kepoh, do all those work. :x

So this time, in a group of 3, each of us can takes turn to dissect the rat, squid and fish ! Okay, squid and fish not counted, because we can see it everyday in wet market.

Squid ! Very wobbly and soft
Believe it or not, this is my first time touching an un-cook squid

And that's the squid's spine
It feels like plastic

And if you ever wonder what's the silver ball thing,is the squid's ink sac. I burst it and drew this.

^^

So, here comes the rat. When I realised the rat is not dead and is partially unconscious, I freak out. Like seriously, I thought I won't be afraid of dissecting it, but who knows, it reminds me of my hamster. Is like I'm dissecting my hamster. :(

As you can see, our rat is clearly a female

When we try to pin her limbs onto the dissection board, it feels the pain and she shrieked and moves ! FYI, all my group members coincidentally are all girls, so we freaked out and shout. -_- And so, our lecturer came and checked and told us our rat will wake up very soon. *!!!* And so, she unpin the rat, and 1 hand hold the head, and the other hold the body, and PULL ! She said she broke her central nervous system. :O Poor rat. :(

Well, at least the rat won't feel anything when we dissect her then. Is better this way. :x

This is how we dissected the rat
We got confuse when we reached the rib cage part

That's me cutting her fur coat

Uberly professional

The organs.

Since the rat is still conscious, hence we can see the heart beat.

When we adjust her intestine,
she unconsciously excreted
:x

Rat ! You sacrificed for our education
May you rest in peace

:'(

Okay, enough of anatomy photos. Right after the dissection part, our second practical is to be a gardener. There are tons of flowers available in the lab that day. The whole lab smells like lilies ! Among the 5 flowers, sunflower, rose, carnation, daisy and lily, lily smells the best. Like seriously. Ehem, do you realise that my name also Lily ? :p

Lily !!

 <3 LILES !! <3

DAISIES ! PINK IN COLOUR !
:D

Mr Sunflower !

Carnation

Lucky that, all of us does not have pollen allergy.

We immersed all this flowers to different concentration of sucrose solution and kept it for a week. The result came out, Lilies are the one cannot survive among all. It dies even at the day 3. :( And my friend said Lily's life span is short. Shit.

End

Cheers !
