About Me

Hey Earthlings ! I'm Lily and I just got the Golden Key (in my case, a White Gold Key) last 23rd of January. <3

Currently living with 3 other friends of mine under the same hood in South Australia, together we are pursuing the Bachelor of Science (Food and Nutrition Science) On our way to become an awesome Food Scientist. :D

Casual is my type. Sneakers, jeans, tees are my favourite. As an animal lover, I strongly agree that neuter your pets is a good way to keep both the society as well as the animal world balance. Ecosystem in balance is important ! *thumbs up*

U Residence

Went to Taylor's University Open Day today. Asked about the course for Food Science and Nutrition. Without considering the scary stories that Da Jie told me, I actually like that course, the campus environment and especially the hostel. Hee Hee..

I think I asked more questions related to the hostel more than the course itself. -_-

Reason number 1 is because, well, I'm very excited to stay in a hostel since I didn't have the experience before.
Reason number 2 : the info about their accommodation in their website is so little until I can finish reading it within a blink of my eyes. wtf
Reason number 3 : Da Jie is already enrolled in their Food Science course, so she can tell me more anytime, anywhere. Hee hee!

Today's post is all about U residence, but unfortunately, I don't have any photo for the room. I was in a hurry, so yea. :(

There's 4 kinds of rooms. The En-Suite Twin room, En-Suite Single room, normal Twin room and normal Single room. The En-Suite type is a room with attached bathroom.

Both of the normal rooms are in Apartment style. Like 1 unit, there's 6 rooms (if I'm not mistaken), included a pantry and each person have their own cabinet to keep their can food or whatever. As for the normal room which doesn't have attached bathroom, they have 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets for each unit. So, you have to share. But fret not, there's someone to clean the pantry and the bathroom for you! :)

Each bathroom included heater! And En-Suite type doesn't have a pantry.

The security for the hostel is very strict. You need a pass card to enter the hostel lobby and enter the lift. Let say, you stay in Block A. You can't use your block A pass card to enter Block B. The guys and girls' dorms are separated block. CCTV and security guards all over. So, is super safe. :)

There's no curfew for U Residence though. But if you come back late after 1am, you need to register yourself although you are one of the resident. Just for a safety record. Just in case, you know.

One thing bad about U Residence is, you can only have either 6 months or 1 year contract with them. You can't extend it unless they approve and agree to do so. But you need to be very active in curricular, disciplined, as good as angel could be, then they only will let you stay after 1 year. If not, you have to stay off campus hostel.

So, the most important part. The cost !

Monthly Rental
En-Suite (Twin) : RM920
En-Suite (Single) : RM 1200
Normal Twin : RM 820
Normal Single : RM 1100

Deposit : RM 2000

Admin Charges : RM 500

Okay, the end. I hope these extra information helps! :)

Gonna head to the bed now, tomorrow is Monday, which means, work day. :(

Cheers !!

Hey there! :) I too have to agree about the very high cost of the hostel! I am also excited to have a stay in the U Residence :D I don't come friend West Malaysia and had no friends or family coming to Taylor's too so I have no choice but to stay in the hostel due to safety and being a freshman. will be staying in the normal one as it has a kitchen :)

Enjoy in Taylor's !
